Nibbles and Yum-Yums: July 2, 2010
Today, I’m introducing a new blog series called—you guessed it—Nibbles and Yum-Yums. This is a place for me to share some of the awesome stuff I find online each week that I think you might like. I’ll try to get it out consistently on Fridays. Sometimes I might share a little commentary; but really, if it makes this list, just click through and check it out for yourself. If you hate it, there’s always the “back” button. Enjoy!
Confession: I have “a few” tattoos myself and I fall into the camp that believes they’ve become so common it no longer matters if they’re seen in the workplace. Of course, there are still limits. A face tattoo, for example, might be hard to ignore. If the fingers of my bank teller are covered in Old English script spelling out “lover”, I might think twice before handing him a stack of cash. But a simple butterfly tattoo on the ankle should hardly be cause for concern. What are your thoughts?
Sick of holding your tongue? Maybe you could just anonymously drop a copy of this article on your boss’s desk…Just an idea.
I couldn’t agree more, my friend. I couldn’t agree more.
Pop quiz hotshot: You’re dropped in an unfamiliar city with $25 and nothing but the shirt on your back. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO? This is an interview with a guy who did it and wrote a book about it.
This week, at OfficeArrow, I was fortunate to host a webinar with Karl Staib, the brain behind the Work Happy Now blog. If you haven’t explored it yet, I highly recommend you do so. Now. It’s a robust resource for anyone who needs a little nudge in a positive direction.
Have something that you’d like me to share in the Nibbles and Yum-Yums series? Drop me a line!
