Nibbles and Yum-Yums: July 9, 2010
This article really hit home with me. I’ve been in a job mismatch before and I experienced everything outlined here. And, ultimately, I came to the same conclusion…
This past week, my Twitter friend, Erika Lyremark (the infamous Daily Whip) introduced me to Alexandra Franzen (freelance writer/personal branding extraordinaire and all-around awesome chick) and her blog, which is probably one of the most exciting Internet finds I’ve stumbled upon in recent months. It’s called—get this—Unicorns for Socialism. I don’t know….just go with it. I DO know that I like it. And I especially like her Life Design 2010 idea. It actually inspired me to think about my own Life Design. So keep your eye out for that. I’ll post it here when I’m done. But be warned, it won’t be nearly as pretty as Alexandra’s.
This post is written by Christopher Edgar, author of Inner Productivity, a fabulous book I reviewed for OfficeArrow several months ago. Here, he looks at procrastination and the ever-troublesome ego at work. Not that I’ve ever experienced problems with my ego getting in the way at work or anything…I’m just thinking of you guys. (Did that sound convincing?)
I just discovered Patty Bechtold and her wonderful blog! She’s a wonderfully descriptive writer and her posts just suck me in. I was fortunate to stumble upon her 99th post, in which she reflects on the simple philosophy emerging. After reading it, I knew I’d be visiting regularly.
I absolutely adore this post. I’m not going to tell you the secret thing he’s talking about here. You’ll have to go read it for yourself. But ultimately, it’s all about shedding the victim mentality and MAN, that’s what people need to hear. I admire the writer of this article for his straight-up, no B.S. approach.
