Why Work With a Career Coach?
Career decisions can be overwhelming. It’s easy to get stuck weighing the pros and cons and trying to predict the future, all the while growing more and more anxious. Many people end up feeling like there’s no “good” answer.
Of course, even when you know what you want to do and what you need to do, it can be tough to actually follow through. Things happen. You get distracted; you lose motivation. It’s natural, but dangerous. Years go by and, before you know it, your once tangible goals have become nothing more than distant dreams.
Working with a coach changes all of this. A coach keeps you on track, holds you accountable, and supports you in taking action. You have someone to walk beside you on the journey, an objective person with whom you can brainstorm, voice frustrations and clarify processes.
As a coach, my only concern is helping you achieve your goals. Unlike friends and family members, I have no personal agenda so my contributions are unbiased and solely focused on your needs.
“Chrissy respectfully challenges me and keeps me on track to meet my personal and professional goals.”

How Career Coaching With Chrissy Works
I use a wide variety of coaching techniques and tools (you can learn more about them here). As a graduate of the CTI Core Curriculum program, I use the co-active coaching model predominately, though not exclusively. As a client, it’s not really important for you to know my methods. The critical thing you need to know is that I am trained and I have the experience to know what tools work best based on person and circumstance.
Each package I offer includes 2 to 3 sessions per month of one-on-one coaching. All sessions are 45 minutes and are typically done over the phone. You will receive advice and feedback as well as specific action items to complete. Between sessions, you will have homework. Throughout our work together, we will do a variety of activities and assessments to help you better understand yourself, your career and your goals.
“I think what motivated me most was how Chrissy supported my good ideas, scaled back some of my long-term ideas and helped me form a more specific plan.”
–Stoney W. Florida
Ready to Get Started?
To ensure the best results for my clients, I always schedule a complimentary career strategy session before any commitment is made. Please complete the form below to apply for your no-cost, no-obligation career strategy session (think of it as a “get to know you” meeting). Please complete the application thoroughly and with complete honesty.
NOTE: A career strategy session is specifically designed to help you determine if career coaching is right for your needs and, if so, to help you decide which package is most appropriate. I only accept people who are SERIOUS about working together. This is not a “free” coaching session. Please keep in mind that submitting an application does not guarantee an appointment. Upon receiving your information, I will be in touch within 2 business days to discuss next steps.
How is coaching different from counseling?
I’m not a doctor or therapist. I’m not trained to dive into deep psychological issues. Yes, some of our conversations will dabble in this territory, but ultimately, coaching is about taking action. It’s not a matter of simply talking, reflecting, and analyzing. It’s about making changes, making decisions and making life better. If you are in need of a therapist, or if I suspect during our conversations that therapy would be a better match for your needs, I will tell you right away. Rest assured that I am a big fan of therapy but my role as a coach is quite different. If there is any confusion, I’d be happy to discuss it with you further.
How can I learn about the packages you offer?
Those who are SERIOUS about learning more, please apply for a no-cost, no-obligation career strategy session above.
Do you have any references?
Of course. Check out the testimonials on this page. If you’d like to speak to any of my references, please let me know. I’d be happy to connect you.
Are you professionally trained?
Yes. I have completed 120 hours of core curriculum with CTI, the world’s leader in training for coaches. I am also a certified Professional Career Manager (PCM).
I love your blog and I just want to ask you a few questions about my work situation. Is that okay?
Of course it’s okay to send me an email but please understand that I’m very busy. I simply can’t respond to every email with the kind of in-depth, thoughtful answers you want and deserve. In order to really get my undivided attention, I strongly recommend that you consider coaching and, if you’re SERIOUS about making changes in your career, apply for a no-cost, no-obligation career strategy session using the form above. Or you can try a quick fire session, which you can learn about here.
